Notice about Mr. Testman a visiting daguerreotypist:
"Mr. Testmann, a Daguerreotypist from Copenhagen arrived here with the most recent steamer. He will be staying for some time to make portraits. If such is the case we will be able to compare our Mr. Knudsen's portraits with Mr. Testmann's efforts."
Written in Norwegian by the first Norwegian photographer Hans Thøger Winther in one of his many publications: Ny Hermoder, et aesthetisk Ugeskrift. Vedføies 24 Billeder i Staalstik, og 4 lithographier (5te Binds 23de Hefte) Christiania, 1843 Forlagt af H.T. Winther Trykt i Forleggerens Officin. Kjøbenhavn. Den skandinaviske Boghandling.
This note proves that Testmann (Peter Otto) was in Christiania in the summer of 1843 and adds to the high probability that his known image of The Royal Palace in Christiania was made in 1843.
