¾ portrait of a seated woman, a young woman with hair in a middle parting and gathered up around her ears with ringlets at the back, facing left. She is seated at an ornate gilt table with a vase containing roses and a column base behind. Her jewellery, chain, rings, bracelet and pearl bracelet, and the back of her chair are painted in gold. The whole is hand coloured. Bell shaped, layered sleeves reveal lace cuffs, which match the lace collar set off with a ribbon at the front.
