Landscape view of Rome in the Piazza del Papolo from the Porta del Papolo. In the centre is an obelisk (the Flaminio obelisk) with a cross on the top, steps, four lions and basins at the base. Behind this is the street, the Corso. The church on the left, with dome and bell-tower, is that of S. Maria in Monte Santo, next to the Via del Barberino which forks to the left. On the extreme left is Melloni's hotel aux Isles Britanniques. The Church on the right, also with similar dome and bell-tower, almost a mirror image, is S. Maria di Miracoli, next to it is the Via di Ripetta.
