An all metal camera for circular daguerreotype plates. The camera is supported on a separate, telescopic metal stand which has three levelling screws set into its base. The camera has a 149mm f/3.6 Petzval portrait lens with rack and pinion focussing. A separate conical focusing screen holder is screwed to the back. The camera is number 81. This is the same number used for the replicas produced by Voigtlander in 1939 and as this camera came to Kodak from Voigtlander it can be assumed that this camera waas the model used for the replicas. The plate holder is a replica and is not shown.
