Sliding box daguerreotype camera by Lerebours modified for use by William Henry Fox Talbot with paper negatives. The lens is inscribed 'LEREBOURS A PARIS'. Features a black ring holding three stops, over lacquered brass. Made from Tropical hardwood. Incorporates a folding hood to aid seeing the image on the ground glass screen. Made to focus by sliding the boxes in and out. Contains a simple meniscus lens. Metal hinges and a brass screw to fix the sliding boxes.
