Very skilfully and richly colored. Bought in London 1985. The lid is detatched from the tray (damage).

Mit Beard in London beginnt in Europa die Periode der daguerreschen Ateliers, sein Etablissement war das erste professionelle Fotostudio auf dem Kontinent (März 1841). Er hatte das Patent zum Daguerreotypieren in England und eröffnete in rascher Folge eine Zahl von Ateliers.
