Description
As part of the Collection Agfa Foto-Historama this object was on loan at Museum Ludwig from 1985 to 2005. In 2005 it was acquired as part of the Collection Agfa Foto-Historama with the support of the Kulturstiftung der Laender (Cultural Foundation of the German Federal States), the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the City of Cologne.

Hermann Krone stammt aus Breslau (heute Wrocław, damals zu Preußen zugehörig, heute Polen). War tätig als Daguerreotypist und Photograph u.a. in Breslau, Dresden und Leipzig. Dazu war er Sammler, Pädagoge und Gründer des Historischen Lehrmuseums für Photographie, aus dem 1907 die heutige Hermann Krone Sammlung (Technische Universität Dresden) hervorgegangen ist.
