Half-length portrait of a seated man (Alexander Hoeppner, 1805-1873) with sideburns, looking slightly to his right. He was a councilman in Tallinn from 1856 until 1873. He wears a dark jacket, white shirt with high collar, a dark cravat and a ring on his finger. He sits on a wooden chair with ornate upholstered armrests, holds a watch in his right hand and rests his both arms on the armrest. The image has a plain pale fabric background.
