Bythe first week of March 1853, Robert Farmer, a 30 year old chemist, had announced that he would be taking daguerreotype portraits for the remarkably low price of 2s 6d for each portrait, at his shop in North Street, Brighton
Head and shoulders portrait of a woman looking slightly to her right. She wears a dark dress with an elaborate lace collar, a long gold chain, and ringlets. There may be a brooch (indistinct) at the front of her garment below the dress at her neck.
