Abb. siehe: Richter, Stefan "The Art of Daguerreotype" London 1989 S. 24/25. Hier wird auf den 7. August 1853 datiert. Die Maße der Platte sind mit 21,4 x 16,2 cm angegeben. Restaurierungsbericht vom 14.3.1988: Prägung Plattenvorderseite, rechte, obere Ecke "Rosette", rechteckiges Signet mit Tier und zwei Mondsicheln und den Buchstaben JP, "30". Rinhart, American Daguerreotype, 1981, schreibt dazu S.424 Nr. 29 Unknown French platemaker, ca. 1850-1858 peak years, 1854-1856. Probably the second most widely used French plate." - Diese Daguerreotypie stammt aus der Sammlung Erich Stenger. Stenger trug sie in dem Zeitraum von 1906 bis 1955 zusammen. 1955 verkaufte Stenger seine Sammlung an AGFA. 1985 kam die Sammlung als Leihgabe Agfa Foto-Historama nach Köln. 1997 wurde das Agfa Foto-Historama dem Museum Ludwig organisatorisch unterstellt. 2005 erwarb schließlich die Stadt Köln mit Hilfe zahlreicher Unterstützer die Sammlung für das Museum Ludwig. / Dokument-Nummer: obj 05050855

As part of the Collection Agfa Foto-Historama this object was on loan at Museum Ludwig from 1985 to 2005. In 2005 it was acquired as part of the Collection Agfa Foto-Historama with the support of the Kulturstiftung der Laender (Cultural Foundation of the German Federal States), the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the City of Cologne.
Embossing plate front, right upper corner "Rosette", rectangular signet with animal and two crescent moon and the letters JP, "30". Rinhart, American Daguerreotype, 1981, writes p.424 No. 29 Unknown French platemaker, ca. 1850-1858; peak years, 1854-1856. Probably the second most widely used French plate. "
