They were married in the church Nykirken 2nd of August 1854 and lived in Bergen, Norway. This is their engagement portrait. He was a captain and his wife sometimes joined him on his travels. An interesting detail in this photo is the woman's clock hidden behind the belt. Hand coloured skin tones.
