First listed in 1841 in New York City. Moved several times in NY City around Broadway (183, 175, 281, 247, 217). Around 1846 he took over Johnson's Portrait Gallery in New Orléans and was listed as E. White and Co.
According to Alexander Beckers "My daguerreotype experience" (1889): "In the spring of 1844 Mr. Edward White bought one of the large Voigtlander instruments [...]"
